Julie Rengert (DJ - for "Doc Julie") has worked in the field of fitness and health improvement since 1999.  She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from The Ohio State University in 2011, and her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  The program she has developed, 5-ALARM Fitness Program, is the culmination of working with clients and applying Social Cognitive Theory to create interactive assignments and self-regulation tools to assist individuals in development of a system for reaching their own goals.  Additionally, Julie has taught biology and health courses at the college level since 2006. 

DJ earned her group fitness certification from NETA in 2012, and continues to earn new certificates with recertification, such as "Exercise to treat lower back injury."  She earned her IFBB Professional Card in Fitness in 1999 at the USA Championships in Santa Monica, CA.  She placed 9th place in the Arnold Classic Fitness International 2000, 2nd place at the Jan Tana Pro Figure 2003, 7th place at the Olympia Pro Figure in 2003, and 5th place in the Arnold Classic Figure International 2004.

With much of the 5-ALARM focus on work site wellness, DJ has also consulted with fire, police, and military in additional to general companies.  As a consultant with the Fire Athlete channel for Rescue methods, she has shared topics related to optimal fitness and health.  Additionally, group fitness classes add to the attainable expertise that can be shared with indidivuals and via the web.

She has been featured in several national magazines, including Oxygen, Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers, Flex, Ironman, Men's Fitness, and Planet Muscle.  Additionally she has written several articles for local publications.

Sean and Julie Rengert were married June 9th, 2007.  Sean has two sons, Seth and Sam.  The development of the 5-ALARM Fitness concept was born out of their passion for health and fitness and the fire service. Sean has been a professional firefighter and paramedic since 2000 at Marysville Fire Department.  Sean is also the fitness coordinator at Marysville which includes administration of yearly fitness evaluations and orientation of new city gym members.
